Historic Home Photo Fundraiser

If you’ve ever watched those shows on TV where people find historic photos of their house and wished that could be you, maybe you're in luck. Altadena Heritage has been pledged a collection of real estate home listing cards with photos circa 1957. These photos give a glimpse of Altadena residences as they looked half a century ago. Before the photos are donated to the permanent collection, the owner has requested that AH use them for a fundraiser.

Not all Altadena homes are represented in the collection, but several hundred are. If we have a photo of your house (or a neighbor you’d like to surprise), for a $20.00 donation we will generate a computer reproduction of the image on high quality paper and provide a copy of the home fact card found on the reverse which can tell you what your home would have cost...around fifty years ago! Once your house photo has been “purchased,” the physical card will be donated to the Heritage archives in your name. What a great way to support AH and receive a key to your home’s heritage in Altadena!

The current list (below) is of the properties that have been catalogued to date. A still-to-come supplemtal list will add more photos as well as a large group of property information cards which do not have images (copies of these information cards are free to members). AH also has a number of Pasadena, Sierra Madre, San Gabriel, and other area home cards which will be listed in our second phase of the fundraiser, so tell your friends to the south!
